Celebrating Kerala Piravi: Honouring the Spirit of God’s Own Country

Kerala Piravi is observed every year on 1st November to commemorate the formation of the state of Kerala. In 2025, since 1st November fell on a holiday, the celebration was held on 4th November at our college. The event was organized by the Malayalam Department under the guidance and coordination of Parvathy Miss.

All the student teachers took part in the celebration with great enthusiasm by dressing in traditional Kerala sarees, which enhanced the beauty and cultural richness of the programme. The main objective of the event was to celebrate and promote Kerala’s unique culture, language, and traditions.

A variety of cultural programmes were presented, including Malayali Manka and Malayali Sreeman competitions, story passing, songs, and dub show performances. Each activity reflected the creativity and talents of the students and beautifully represented the cultural heritage of Kerala.

The Kerala Piravi celebration was colourful, joyful, and memorable. It provided an opportunity for the student teachers to gain a deeper appreciation of Kerala’s cultural values while fostering a sense of unity, pride, and enthusiasm among all participants.
