MY THIRD WEEK OF TEACHING PRACTICE 🏫✨

July 20–24, 2026 πŸ—“️

A Week of Learning, Teamwork, and Responsibility 🀝🌱

The third week of my teaching practice at GSSS yeroor was another meaningful and productive experience in my journey as a prospective teacher. As the week began, I continued my regular teaching sessions in Classes 9C and 9D. With each passing day, I became more familiar with the students, their learning habits, and the classroom environment. Taking regular classes helped me improve my confidence, communication skills, and classroom management abilities. I also received several substitution periods in the lower classes, which gave me an opportunity to interact with younger students and understand their interests, behaviour, and learning needs. These experiences helped me realise the importance of adapting teaching methods according to the age and abilities of learners. πŸ“šπŸ‘©‍🏫

Apart from classroom teaching, I was given an opportunity to guide students during physical training (PT) periods. This was a new and valuable experience for me, as it allowed me to participate in activities beyond academic instruction. Guiding students during PT helped me understand the importance of physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and active participation in school life. It also taught me that a teacher plays an important role in supporting the overall development of students, including their physical and social well-being. πŸƒ‍♂️⚽

On July 23, regular classes were suspended due to a strike. However, I reached the school at the usual time and made productive use of the day. The school was undertaking the process of renewing its library, and we had the opportunity to participate in cleaning the library and arranging the old books. Working together to organise the library was a rewarding experience. It helped me understand the importance of maintaining a clean and welcoming learning environment for students. The activity also taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, responsibility, cooperation, and service. I realised that a school library is not merely a place for storing books but also an important space that encourages reading, curiosity, and independent learning. πŸ“–πŸ§Ή

On July 24, regular classroom teaching remained suspended due to the strike. Nevertheless, the day was utilised productively for various academic and administrative responsibilities. We assisted with checking the admission register, organising examination portions, and supporting the academic planning process. These activities gave me a better understanding of the administrative responsibilities involved in the smooth functioning of a school. I also realised that effective teaching requires proper planning, systematic record-keeping, and cooperation among teachers. Participating in these responsibilities helped me appreciate the work that takes place behind the scenes to ensure the effective functioning of an educational institution. πŸ“‹πŸ–Š️

Overall, the third week of my teaching practice was a valuable learning experience that extended beyond regular classroom teaching. Interacting with students from different classes, guiding them during physical training, participating in library renewal, and assisting with academic and administrative work helped me understand the different dimensions of a teacher's role. The activities on the days when regular classes were suspended were particularly meaningful, as they showed me that learning and professional development can take place in many forms. This week strengthened my sense of responsibility, teamwork, and commitment to the teaching profession. It also reminded me that becoming a good teacher involves not only delivering lessons but also contributing to the academic, physical, and overall development of the school communit
